Windows or windshields? What’s the difference on my car?

Tempered glass is what you will find on the body and rear of your car. Windshields are laminated glass. Laminated glass is different from tempered because has an interlayer that holds together when broken. Tempered glass is a safety glass that is strengthened with chemical or thermal treatments that cause the broken pieces to come apart in granular bits and not jagged and sharp shards.
